Spain is a great destination for a holiday and there are a number of places in the country that tourists can visit from big cities to quiet coastal resorts. This article contains a list of the five best places in Spain that you should visit if you’re planning a trip to this region.

Barcelona. Barcelona is a must-visit destination. This city is based on the Catalan coast, which is one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world. Beyond these offers Barcelona visitors all the amenities of a big city and is considered one of the most advanced cities in the country. Make sure you stroll down Las Ramblas to take and relax on the sandy beach and enjoy the street entertainers and for free.

Madrid. Want a holiday to a real Spanish experience with a cosmopolitan flavor combines, then Madrid is the place to visit. This city is famous for its food, rich culture and bullfighting. Whether you want a burst of shopping or enjoy a night club or visit the historic sites tour of the region, Madrid has something for everyone. Immersed in culture and the amount of capital is a vibrant place.

Cordoba. This region is a UNESCO heritage site and has a unique charm about it. Tourists seeking to understand Spanish history will enjoy a visit to the Mezquita, a former mosque, Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos and Tower fortress Calahora. Not always a first choice tourist, but an understanding of the real Spain, for those of you who really love to explore.

Valencia. The town overlooks the bay of Valencia and is situated on the Mediterranean coast. It is the capital of the third largest district in Spain and has many attractive places to architecture buffs will enjoy a visit. The marina and the beach tends to be popular, but there are many great areas to explore in this city.

Costa Blanca. This area is one of the largest resorts in Spain and has a number of beautiful towns and villages. It is the perfect destination in Spain if you are looking for a seaside holiday enjoyment.

Volcanic Vacations on Lanzarote

Whilst million of tourists have been dealing with the fallout from the recent eruption in Iceland others are planning holidays in other volcanic hot spots. Such as the Canaries, where the seven islands all bear the marks of significant volcanic activity. Nowhere more so than on Lanzarote, which is located close to the coast of Africa.

Lanzarote experienced enormous eruptions – both during the 1730´and again in 1824. Which left around 200km square of the interior completely covered in a carpet of lava. Destroying farmland and villages and threatening the livelihoods of the locals. Ironically though this region today is the most visited spot on the island and a real hot favourite with tourists. Quite literally in fact as the temperature here just below the earths surface can still reach a furnace like 400 degrees.

Heat is also why so many tourists’ book holidays in Lanzarote. As the islands location means that it basks in sunshine all year round and is still warm even in winter. When the south of the island in particular welcomes a large amount of guests from sun starved Northern Europe.

When it comes to accommodation and booking places to stay many tourists from the UK now opt to book their own Lanzarote villas direct. A result of the rise of the internet and private owners sites. Which have effectively cut travel agents out of the equation. Villas in Playa Blanca are particularly popular as they tend to offer better value for money than other resort destinations on the island, such as Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen. Thanks to the fact that there is such a large supply of holiday property here.

As well as volcanoes Lanzarote is an ideal destination for anyone who enjoys sightseeing. There is a bustling capital called Arrecife to explore. Which is home to around 45,000 people – as well as a couple of castles dating back to the 15th century and an atmospheric inland lagoon called El Charco. This is also the commercial centre of the island so it’s an ideal spot for anyone keen on doing a bit of shopping. After which its possible head for the beach – as Playa El Reducto is located right in the heart of the city.

There are a lot of other interesting towns and villages to explore too. Such as Teguise, which was the islands’ capital until passing this mantle on to Arrecife in 1852 and which boasts plenty of colonial architecture.

Ibiza, Spain : A Brief Guide

Ibiza is one of the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean off the coast of Spain. For the perfect holiday island exciting, with all different types of beaches and nightlife, Ibiza may be the place for you. Besides using the ferries from several different ports on the mainland of Spain to come to Ibiza, you can also fly to the airport in Sant Josep. There are several airlines flying directly from the Spanish peninsula and Europe.

There is much to do in and around Ibiza, from its famous nightlife. Millions of tourists coming to Ibiza each year comes to clubbing alone. In fact, Ibiza is the birthplace of the “rave”. The food at Ibiza is different, but of course along the coast is more known for its variety of wonderful seafood. As they can be found in pork and typical dishes of local populations.

Ibiza’s coastline is very uneven and literally has dozens of beaches. Some are sandy and all other more private rocky coves. All they have many facilities offered drinks and water sports equipment such as kayak and sailboat rentals. Beaches are considered very relaxed and has been popular since the ’60s.

There is more to Ibiza that bars and beaches, however. It is inside the woods, the U.S. Offer beautiful scenery and peaceful getaway. You can find small towns in the country charming and surrounded by olive groves and almond trees. Along the coast there are plenty of walking trails.
